Come and See an Ordinary Morning

The best way to understand Thinkle is to stand in it while the children are working. Come while the day is in full flow, rather than tidied up for visitors.

The building

What You Will Walk Up To

A corner building on a quiet residential street, with the garden and the entrance on the same side, so children arrive through green rather than straight off the road.

Shown here as it will look when Thinkle opens, while the last of the work is finished.

A family arriving in a classroom, the mother carrying a baby and a boy leaning on his father’s leg, as an educator kneels to greet them.

Why visit

What a Visit Tells You That a Website Cannot

  1. How the Room Sounds

Busy, but not loud. You can hear children thinking out loud and adults speaking quietly.

  2. What Children Do Without Being Prompted

Whether they choose work for themselves, settle into it, and come back to it later.

  3. How the Adults Respond

When they step in, when they wait, and how they speak to a child who is stuck.

  1. Step one

    You send the form

Your child’s age, and roughly when you would like to come.

  2. Step two

We reply and suggest a morning

We pick a morning when your child’s age group is doing something worth watching.

  3. Step three

You come while the children are working

No performance, no tidied-up version. Bring your child if you would like to.

  4. Step four

    We talk afterwards

Ask anything. About the approach, about the day, about your child in particular.

  5. Step five

You decide in your own time

There is no deadline in the room and no follow-up campaign afterwards.
