The Questions Parents Actually Ask
Grouped so you can go straight to the part you care about. If yours is not here, ask us and we will answer it properly.
Philosophy
Is Thinkle Montessori?
Thinkle is inspired by Montessori principles, alongside play-based learning, Reggio Emilia and Finnish early childhood education. We bring together the ideas we find meaningful for young children, rather than following one methodology rigidly.
Is Thinkle academic?
We take learning seriously, but we do not believe early childhood needs to be rushed into formal academics. We build strong foundations for literacy, numeracy, reasoning, communication and independence through developmentally appropriate experiences.
Programmes and age groups
What age does Thinkle accept?
Thinkle’s early childhood programmes are designed for children from 6 months onwards, with programmes structured according to developmental stages.
Literacy and numeracy
Do you teach ABC and numbers?
Yes, but developmentally and meaningfully. Literacy and numeracy foundations begin with language, sensory experiences, classification, quantity, sound awareness, books and real-world experiences before becoming increasingly systematic as children are ready.
Daily experience
Do you use worksheets?
Our early years approach prioritises hands-on experiences, conversation, movement, exploration and meaningful activities. Children learn by doing, rather than through worksheet-driven learning.
Is there free play?
Yes. We see free play as an important part of learning. Children are given opportunities to choose, explore, construct, imagine and interact, while teachers observe, support and extend their learning when appropriate.
How do teachers handle different developmental levels?
Teachers observe individual children and adapt experiences, materials, questions and levels of support according to each child’s developmental needs.
Assessment
How are children assessed?
Through ongoing observation, documentation and understanding of children’s development rather than relying only on tests.
